First look at the Palm Web OS on the Palm Pre

If you have not already heard, Palm just announced (a few days ago) their new Palm Web OS and new handset,  the Palm Pre.  You might be wondering why we’re covering this news.  Simple.  We have hinted in the past that HTC might be the ones who will actually be making the new Palm Pre, just as they are currently making the Palm Treo Pro and a handful of other Teo handsets over the years.  There is still no official word on who Palm will be sourcing the phone from, but in its current design, it closely resembles the form factor that the HTC Touch Dual did when first launched.  There are differences, but I’m sure you can see the similarities as well.  Anyways… the form factor is nice, but the real reason why we are sharing this info is because Palm’s new Web OS is simply breath taking.  The OS is designed on HTML, CSS, and Java which allows it to bring your web life to your handset with ease.  To be honest, I really want to sell my G1 right now and buy the new Pre just so I can use Web OS. It is really everything Android should have been, plus a little more. Palm is expected to release the Pre before the end of June on Sprint’s network.  If you’re at all curious to see what I’m talking about, check out this detailed review of the Palm Web OS, you won’t be disappointed.
