By now, I’m sure we’re all a bit disappointed that the T-mobile G1 pre-sale date we heard about a few weeks back will soon have come and gone with nothing to show for it. We’ve been waiting for a long time already, but it looks like there will be a lot of answers to all our questions in less than 7 days! Our good friends over at TmoNews have guys posted that T-Mobile will be hosting a press event for the T-Mobile G1 at 10:30am on 09/23/08. We’re expecting T-Mobile will finally be taking the cover off the G1 and letting a select few have some hands-on time with the Google Android powered cell phone.
We are still in the dark in regards to pre-sale dates for the T-Mobile G1. It would seem logical for T-Mobile to offer up the device for pre-sale to current customers right after the press event. Earlier today, the WSJ reported that HTC has a sales forcast that should beat most analysts’ estimates. HTC is expecting to ship between 600,000 to 700,000 units of the G1 by the end of the year. The WSJ says that sources close to the project are still saying the T-Mobile G1 will ship before the end of October. Unfortunately those sources did not have any definite word on actual pricing of the G1.
We’re expecting a more news to trickle in over the next week. We’ll be sure to you you updated with anything that comes our way.
On a side note, how many of you are planning on buying the T-Mobile G1?
