As we inch our way closer to September 23, the WSJ seems to be the source for most HTC G1 news. A new article from late last night states that the T-Mobile branded HTC G1 will go on sale for $199. Other reports for yesterday afternoon seem to have pinpointed the launch date for the HTC G1 to October 17, which happens to be the same day that T-Mobile will be flipping the 3G switch for eight new markets. This would increase T-Mobile’s 3G coverage to 21 markets across the U.S. There is still no indication if the HTC G1 will only launch in market areas where 3G coverage is already live.
