This week we reported that HTC was confident they would be pushing their Android powered device out the door before the end of the year. But now, Trip Chowdhry from Global Equities Research is telling us that HTC is “having structural problems to incorporate Google’s demanded feature set.” He’s also saying that HTC “demands guaranteed minimum revenue surety from Google” since it’s unclear how much demand there will be for Android powered phones. Just keep in mind that these are worked from a research firm that gets paid for reporting on their research. Until we hear anything official from HTC, I wouldn’t get too discouraged.
Other speculation has been heard which indicated that the developer community isn’t as interested in Android since they have working SDK’s from Microsoft, Apple, Nokia, and other platform providers. This may be true for now, but once the first Android powered phone hits the market, things will definitely pick up.
