It seems HTC fanatics who have purchased their Touch Diamonds through importers like Expansys in the UK, will be treated like any other customer as if they purchased it through their cellular carrier. www.pocket-link.co.uk first reported that HTC was not pleased with how Expansys had imported the Diamond from Asia in a effort to get it to the streets before it was officially released in the UK and they threatened that the diamonds would not be covered under HTC's warranty service. After the story hit the net, HTC had a sudden change of heart and released this statement:
“HTC will always support the consumer and their device but what’s important is that consumers know that devices are region specific and that to receive the full customer experience, the device bought needs to be relevant for the region they are in. To ensure this, consumers can acquire their HTC Touch Diamond through our trusted distribution network”
