Some of us have been waiting four months for this day and it has finally come. HCT is now shipping the Shift in Europe. For now, the HTC Shift is mainly being launched through various cell carriers like Telefonica in Spain, TIM (Telecom Italia Mobile), and Orange in the United kingdom. You will have to hand over 1199 Euros for the HTC Shift which comes equipped with Microsoft’s Origami Experience 2.0. What sets the HTC Shift apart from other UMPC's is that it offers HTC's "SnapVUE" technology which gives the user access to e-mail, calendar, text messaging, and contact information without having to boot into Windows Vista. HTC claims the Shift can give you 3-4 days of use without having to recharge your battery (if you only use the "SnapVUE" technology)
Those of us on the other side of the Atlantic will probably have to wait at least six months for the Shift to launch, but I'm sure there are some of you who have already ordered yours through your favorite mobile importer.
