It seems like there's quite a bit of news coming out of CES of Vegas, but not much for HTC and their mobile partners. The only bit of news we were able to dig up is that Verizon has launched the HTC S720 as the Verizon SMT5800. Not sure what they had to add more letters and number to the S720, but other than that, it seems Verizon has not done any extensive tweaking to the HTC device. The SMT5800 features both a numeric keypad and full slide-out QWERTY keyboard, stereo Bluetooth support, 2.4″ QVGA screen, EV-DO as well as a microSD card slot.
The Verizon SMT5800 is available now on Verizon's website for $299.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and a new two-year customer agreement and will also launch in their retail locations on January 21. Unfortunately, the device is still running Windows Mobile 6 (now that we're seen a sneak peak on WM7, WM6 just seems so old).
