US variants of the HTC 10 now receiving October’s Android security patch

HTC 10 owners in the US who have been complaining about not getting security patch updates on the HTC 10 should be pleased to hear that the company is pushing out the Android’s October security patch right now. The unlocked, Verizon and T-Mobile models are getting their respective updates, but it seems like those who purchased the device from Sprint will have to wait a little bit longer.

Since this is a security patch update, you shouldn’t find any new software features on your device once the update is installed. HTC will be bringing Android Oreo to the HTC 10 at some point and will most likely be giving HTC Sense a bit of a refresh once that rolls out.

If you own the HTC 10 and haven’t seen the update notification pop up on your device yet, go to Settings > About phone, Software Update > Check Now to ping HTC’s servers to start the process manually.
