Renders and photos give us a fresh look at the HTC 10

Following the news that the HTC Perfume will be called the HTC 10 at launch, we now have new photos and renders of the phone which give us an incredibly detailed look at the phone from nearly every angle.

The first photos were shared by @OnLeaks, showing off a near-black version of the HTC 10. The front of the phone matches recent leaks, but we now know that HTC will be ditching on-screen navigation buttons in favor of capacitive keys which light up on either side of the fingerprint sensor. The other main thing to note in the images is the tweaks to HTC Sense. The phone and messaging icon look similar to those used by Google on Nexus devices and the battery icon at the top has changed orientation. @OnLeaks also shared screenshots from the phone’s settings which make reference to the HTC 10 name and “BoomSound Internal Speakers.” No, the images don’t show front-facing speakers, but we have a feeling that HTC will be using the front call speaker in conjunction with the speaker mounted on the bottom edge to deliver BoomSound audio.

After @Onleaks shared his images, Evan Blass joined in by posting a render of the HTC 10 which shows the front, back, top bottom and left side of a gray version of the phone. There appears to be no difference in design between the real photos and the render of the M10, but it is a bit easier to make out the details in the render. The USB Type-C port is centered on the bottom of the phone while the 3.5mm headphone jack has been moved back to the top edge. The camera lens protrudes slightly from the back of the phone, but it’s not as noticeable as it was on the HTC One M9.

The last detail to note is the date shown on the display in the leaked render from Evan – April 19. In the past, this date has corresponded with the phone’s unveiling or retail launch. There’s no guarantee that anything will be happening on April 19 in New York, but you never know.
