Official: HTC Desire 510 announced, HTC’s most affordable LTE smartphone

Over the past year, HTC and other smartphone makers have released great devices with low-end specs for emerging markets, but there’s always been one key feature that doesn’t seem to make the cut – LTE. That all changes with the introduction of the HTC Desire 510, a new low-end smartphone that blends a decent spec sheet with LTE connectivity for consumers who don’t necessarily have a lot of cash to spend on a phone.

Specs on the HTC Desire 510 include a 4.7 inch FWVGA, quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 SoC, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, microSD card slot (up to 128GB), 5 megapixel main camera, front-facing VGA camera, Wi-Fi a/b/g, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, 2,100 mAh battery and LTE support on 800/1800/2600 MHz. Our only complaint we have is the back of front-facing BoomSound speakers. We know that the HTC Desire 510 is a budget-friendly device, but BoomSound is one of our favorite features which easily sets HTC’s phones apart from the competition.

The HTC Desire 510 will be available in Terra White and Meridian Grey polycarbonate finishes. HTC’s not quite ready to announce pricing, but the company is planning ot release the phone in Europe, Asia and North America in the near future.
