50,000 HTC One (E8)’s sold in 15 minutes

The HTC One (E8) is currently only available in China, but that doesn’t mean HTC is planning to sell the phone in low volumes. Yesterday afternoon, HTC’s Jeff Gordon shared the news that HTC sold 50,000 HTC one (E8)’s in a 15 minute time span. That’s over 3,000 phones per minute! We’re no sure if it was a 15 minute fire sale or just the first 15 minutes that the HTC one (E8) was available for purchase through HTC’s site, but those sales numbers are definitely great news for a company that’s been struggling to keep its head above water.

We know that the HTC One (E8) will not be able to maintain this sales pace, but we wouldn’t be surprised if the HTC One (E8) quickly turns into HTC’s best selling phone of 2014. The phone shares most of its DNA with the HTC One (M8) with the sticker price that’s $400 less than the Samsung galaxy S5, Sony Xperia X2 and the Apple iPhone 5S.
