HTC confirms Android 4.3 update for HTC EVO 4G LTE scheduled for February release

With 2014 right around the corner, HTC’s Jason Mackenzie has confirmed that the Android 4.3 update for the HTC EVO 4G LTE will be sent to Sprint for testing in the coming weeks and is scheduled for a consumer release in mid-February. While the HTC EVO 4G LTE has received a few minor updates in the past, the Android 4.3 build will be accompanied with HTC Sense 5 which will give the phone many of the software features currently featured on HTC’s 2013 devices.

HTC is still silent regarding the Android 4.4 update for the Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE, but we imagine its fate is directly ties to that of the HTC One X since Sprint’s phone shares all of the main components with HTC’s 2012 flagship Android phone. The HTC One X has not been listed as an Android 4.4 update candidate yet, but we’re not very optimistic that the phone will make the list despite the fact that it’s hardware is more than capable of running KitKat.

Hopefully there will be some good news for those who purchased HTC’s 2012 flagship phones as we move into the new year.
