HTC Desire 601 stops by the FCC on its way to Virgin Mobile

The HTC Desire 601 has officially been certified for use in North America by the FCC. According to the FCC’s documentation, the device is equipped with Sprint LTE bands, supporting the rumor from two weeks ago that the HTC Desire 601 would be making it way to Virgin Mobile – a fully-owned subsidiary of Sprint. Since Virgin Mobile doesn’t dabble in high end devices (all devices on virgin Mobile are purchased without subsidies), the HTC Desire 601 should fit in perfectly with the company’s Android smartphone lineup.

We do not know when Virgin Mobile will start selling the HTC desire or what the final handset name will actually be, but we suspect retail price will fall somewhere between $300 and $350.
