Leaked images show HTC 606w to bring BoomSound to mid-range phones

Images revealing the upcoming HTC 606w definitely make the mid-range Android phone a bit more appealing than specs alone. The HTC 606w is rumored to feature a 4.5-inch 960 x 540 qHD display, 1.2GHz processor quad-core, 1GB of RAM,  8-megapixel main camera, a 1.6-megapixel front-facing camera and microSD storage expansion, but the true highlight for us is the micro-drilled speaker holes in the blue band at the top and bottom of the display. Apparently, HTC BoomSound won’t be an HTC One exclusive for long.

To be honest, we’re not surprised to see HTC working on new devices with front-facing stereo speakers. The move does force HTC to design its devices in a different way; the added cost of an extra speaker is inconsequential. We do not know how long it’ll be until we see the HTC 606w hit the market, but we’re excited to see more devices in HTC’s lineup which sport some of the amazing features used in the HTC One.
