‘Let’s get elemental’ – HTC reveals it has a soft spot for metals

The official countdown on htc.com is now down to 5 days and 12 hours. You’d think that HTC would simply let the countdown play out on its own, but the company simply can’t help but drop more hints as we inch our way closer to zero hour. Today, HTC sent out a new teaser image on all of its social media channels. The image simply shows the HTC logo impressed on a piece of metal along with the February 19th date. Several hours later, a tweet was sent out from @htc which read “75% of all the elements on the periodic table are metals” which was then followed by “Let’s get elemental. http://bit.ly/YrYjaP” from @htcusa – linking to a video of the element song on YouTube (which we’ve embedded below for your viewing pleasure).

By now, it should be pretty obvious that HTC’s next flagship device will be featuring a metal casing. The teaser videos which HTC posted on its website last night clearly show that metal is used in the exterior casing of the HTC M7. Up until now, aluminum has been HTC’s metal of choice, but HTC’s elemental obsession has us thinking that they may be using something new from the periodic table for the HTC M7/One.

If it was up to you, what element would you choose from the periodic table to encase your next flagship Android phone?
