While we wish HTC and other manufacturers would simply focus on making the best phones on the market, the reality of the mobile industry is that millions of dollars are being pulled away from research and development each year to support massive armies of lawyers to battle things out on with on the patent battlefront. Over the past year we have reported on several patent disputes between Apple and HTC. Apple has sued HTC and HTC has sued Apple, but keeping track of all the details is a bit harder than that.
Fortunately for us, the guys over at FOSS Patents have connected all the dots. FOSS Patents’ report takes step-by-step through all the different HTC and Apple patent dispute cases over the course of the past year and a half. We have no way of knowing who’s going to win all the different patent disputes, but it does look like HTC does have the upper hand against Apple.
