App Review: Pure Breeze Launcher by Samsung San Jose Mobile Lab

Pure Breeze Launcher is a new home screen and app launcher that changes the way your default home launcher works in Android. It has a lot of new features that you won’t see in any other launcher – like the way you organize the apps. Instead of scrolling through pages of apps like a normal launcher, Pure Breeze allows you to have your own pages in the application launcher. You organize your apps through groups. After you have them organized you can swipe your finger while you’re in the application list and it will take you to the custom application groups you created.

Even though Pure Breeze has a lot of potential it needs a lot of work. It’s not very optimized for lower end devices and only works with Android 2.1 and above. The functionality is quite confusing at first, so be sure to read through the tutorial the first time you launch the application. The launcher doesn’t have a lot of customization to make it the way you like. Pure Breeze launcher by Samsung is available in the Android Market for $1.99 or you can pick up the Lite version for free which has limited functionality. It’s not the best launcher available on the Market, but it’s nice to see Samsung spreading its wings and offering an alternative to TouchWiz.
