Video: HTC Sensation unboxing

The HTC Sensation is a beast of a device. It has a massive 4.3-inch screen, 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, and 768 megs of RAM. I’ve had PC’s with lower specs! It only has 1 GB of internal storage, but will take up to 32 GB of expandable memory with a microSD card. Super LCD screen, 8 megapixel rear camera with dual flash, and a VGA front-facing camera. A little bit disappointing from the video, the Sensation seems to have a faux unibody design, which is highly evident at the start of the video. The Sensation, continues a bloodline that started with the humble but still omnipresent HTC HD2, and raises the bar again. Pacing more power and features into what has now become a familiar form factor, seems to be working well for HTC.

Since the HTC Sensation is already available in the UK, we’re not sure how HTC’s recent announcement regarding locked booloaders will affect phones that are currently on the market. Our phone is that HTC will push out an update which will unlock the bootloader on the HTC Sensation which will allow developers and modders to load custom ROM’s on the Sensation once someone figures out how to ROOT it.

  1. that sounds like a fun. a lil faster than the evo but mostly the same. i dont like that it looks like a blackberry storm(which i dont like) but hey…Htc rocks…… good vid

  2. How is 4.3″ massive? my daily driver is a dell streak 5″.. i would call that massive but manageable. My brother got the samsung inspire 4G (4.5″) and i would say that is about the perfect size for a phone. Also i’m not a giant or anything. I’m 5’7″ and quite slim, so don’t think my hands are any bigger than yours.

Yes, i’ll admit, i was a little overwhelmed when i first got my streak, but after using it for a week.. i honestly can’t stand any device thats under 4.5″, hence i’m aiming for the rumored HTC holiday for my next device.

  3. It’s massive compared to the current range of 3.8″ phones from HTC, remember the Streak was deemed a tablet. not a phone. The sensation specs are what make it massive though, the word infers it’s performance in general, not just it’s size.I’ve gone HD2, Desire, Mozart HD7 and the HD7 feels large after the Mozart.
