Developers circumvent security measures, gain root access on the HTC Thunderbolt

Those of you who like to have a little more control over your Android phones will hopefully be happy to learn that the HTC Thunderbolt has been rooted.  Even though it only took about a day to root the HTC Thunderbolt, developers certainly had their work cut out.  HTC made things a bit more difficult this time around by signing the Thunderbolt’s images, kernel, and recovery.

Rooting the HTC Thunderbolt is currently a nine step process.  The process appears to be pretty simple, but if you’re looking for something a little tamer, we’re pretty sure multiple root methods will be showing up over the next few weeks.
