Verizon employees start training for the HTC ThunderBolt launch

The ThunderBolt in coming, the ThunderBolt is coming! No, we don’t have the launch date yet, but we do have proof that Verizon employees have started training on the world’s first LTE handset.  While it would be nice to know exactly what Verizon employees are being trained on, all we really have is an image which highlights some of the features packed into the HTC ThunderBolt.  While it won’t be the first handset to feature HTC Sense 2.0, the HTC ThunderBolt will be the first device in the U.S. to take advantage of HTC’s updated software which integrates into htcsense.com.  The ThunderBolt will be the first 4G LTE handset on Verizon which means user will be able to use simultaneous voice and data connections while connected to LTE.

One other snippet of information that’s revealed by the image is that video calling with Skype will not be available until after the handset is launched.  We’re not sure how long users will need to wait, but we’re hoping that the Skype team is working hard to launch video calling as soon as possible.

Typically we see leaked training documents hit the web 2-3 week ahead of a handset’s launch.  With that in mind, the HTC ThunderBolt will likely have a launch date some time during the first week of February.
