Goal.com and Handmark team up for perfect soccer duo

The 2010 World Cup kickoff is only forty three days away.  Many of us who live in the U.S. probably didn’t realize that the World Cup was scheduled for this year, but that’s certainly not the case for the rest of the world.  Having grown up in Italy, I am an avid soccer fan and am look forward to catching as many World Cup games as I possibly can.

If you’re looking for a way to keep up with all the latest soccer news around the globe, I’d highly recommend the new Goal.com app for Android.  The app delivers breaking news, interviews, and commentaries on many of your favorite international leagues (Champions League, England, Italy, Spain, and more).   To be honest, the Goal.com app features more nest stories than the USA Today news app.  The Champions League category feature 14 news stories from today alone! Handmark has put together a simple and intuitive UI for the app which easily lets you scroll through news stories and swipe between various leagues and news categories.  Each story features image thumbnails which expand with a quick tap.  Handmark has also included some great settings options which allow you to customize the size of the text, change between four languages, and even add in your own news RSS feed if what you want isn’t found on Goal.com.

Soccer is by far, the most popular sport on the planet and the Goal.com app does a great job of delivering the most important soccer news to your Android phone.  The app is available for free on the Android Market and can also be found on Handmark’s website.
