Google’s Nexus One for Verizon to feature HTC Sense

A while back, we heard that HTC, Google, and Verizon were looking to launch the Nexus One at Verizon stores across the country.  It was a great idea

but now some new information seems to contradict what we heard. Some new screen shots that popped up on Android Central reveals that the Verizon capable version of the Nexus One will only be available through Google.  All the other specs line up with the current GSM Nexus One, but it appears the UI might be a little different.  Rather than featuring stock Android 2.1, the Verizon Nexus One will be blessed with HTC’s Sense UI.  We’re not sure who made this call (Verizon or Google), but I’d imagine that the current GSM Nexus One may be getting a Sense UI update in the future.

Verizon and Google has not yet released pricing or availability details for the CDMA Nexus One, though many are assuming that it will launch right before CTIA later this month.  The original Nexus One was unveiled two days before CES kicked off back in January.

  1. The web page above is wrong. The URL isn’t even accurate to Google’s phone page. It’s http://www.google.com/phone, not “/phones” as is displayed above. It could be Verizon’s error, but I’m hoping it’s a fraud since I really want Verizon to have the phone in their store. 🙂

  2. Verizon is going to start selling the Nexus One but it won’t be with the HTC’s Sense UI.
