HTC Perfume is the code name of HTC’s 2016 flagship smartphone

We don’t know much about HTC’s 2016 flagship smartphone, but a Tweet from @LlabTooFeR claims that rumored HTC O2 device is now dead and will be replaced with a device codenamed HTC Perfume. Unfortunately, the only details we know so far about the device are its name and that it will run Android 6.1 with HTC Sense 8.

HTC O2 rumors claimed that the phone would feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and that it would not launch as the HTC One M10 as HTC was planning to move away from its One branding in 2016. There’s no indication as to how the HTC O2 and HTC Perfume differ, but HTC is likely working on multiple devices with various tweaks to components and design to ensure that they deliver the best phone possible next year.

The HTC Perfume may be the successor to the HTC One M9, but with the launch of the HTC One A9, HTC has shown that it may finally be moving away from the subtle variations on the design that it introduced with the original HTC One. We just hope that HTC will finally do away with the HTC logo below the display and find a way to let HTC’s unique design DNA shine through as it has with its flagship smartphones in the past.

Based on what we’ve seen over the past 2-3 months, do you think the HTC Perfume will finally be the flagship to help turn things around for HTC?

  1. I don’t put a lot of stock in his leaks. He leaks a lot so he’s bound to get some things right, but he gets an awful lot wrong. I had an M9 in my hands for months while he was “leaking” ridiculous and untrue things about the device.

    1. I don’t remember laabtoofer being wrong with anything?
But his leaks are mostly about the SW more than the HW
