Sprint flips the switch early, HTC One (M8) Lollipop update rolling out now

The leaked Sprint document claiming that the HTC One (M8) would be updated to Android 5.0 on February 13th was a bit off. Sprint has apparently approved the update and started pushing it out to its HTC One (M8) customers this morning. If you haven’t seen the update notification on your Sprint HTC One (M8) yet, you can try to trigger the download on your own by going to Settings > Software Updates > HTC Software Updates > Check Now.

The Lollipop update for the Sprint HTC One (M8) packs in Material Design UI tweaks throughout the OS and strips out the Lumen Toolbar (thank you Sprint for reducing the bloatware on the phone). The changes that will be most visible will be the update notification panel with quick settings, multi-tasking cards view and a new lock screen with actionable notifications.

Which service provider do you think will be next to roll out Android 5.0 to the HTC One (M8) and HTC One (M7)?

  1. … considering that the heavily rumored M9 Is to be announced at the MWC they had better made available the OTA 5.0. I was able to download mine last night. I’m feelin’ it so far

  2. I have the HTC desire 816 from virgin mobile (Sprint) I have heard I’m getting Android 5.0 in March. Hope they push this out to virgin mobile
