HTC One running Windows Phone heading to Verizon in late August

The rumors revolving an HTC One (M8) variant running Windows Phone are picking up steam. We details about the phone claims that Verizon will be one of the first service providers in the US to carry it with a launch scheduled for August 21. Exact specs are still a mystery, but the HTC One (W8) handset is said to feature most of the same internal hardware at the HTC One (M8) and its exterior design should allow the phone to use many of the same accessories as it Android counterpart – even the Dot View case now that Windows phone 8.1 will have a ‘smart cover’ feature built in.

While we would be happy with the HTC One (W8) name, it looks like HTC and Microsoft want to make it a little more obvious that phone is running Windows Phone. Multiple sources now claim that the handset will launch as the HTC One (M8) for Windows. Pricing for the HTC One (M8) for Windows should come in at $199.99 with a two-year contract or $610 for those not willing to sign their life away to Verizon.
