Verizon HTC Droid DNA Android 4.2 update with Sense 5 now available

The long awaited Sense 5 update for the HTC Droid DNA has arrived. While the update was originally supposed to be accompanied by Android 4.3, HTC made the decision to pull things back to Android 4.2.2. If you own an HTC Droid DNA, you will first receive a 14.8MB update which will prep your phone to the larger 564.9MB system update which includes nearly all the features HTC One owners have been using these past few months. The update is being pushed out right now, but if you have not yet received the notification of your device, we recommend checking manually by going to Settings  > About > Software updates > Check now  on your HTC Droid DNA.

The Android 4.2.2 update for the HTC Droid DNA comes with most of the features included in other Sense 5 phones. BlinkFeed, Video Highlights (with 12 themes), new galley, people, calendar apps and quick settings will keep Droid DNA owners giddy for at least a few weeks. Fortunately, the DNA does have another update coming within the next few months. With Android 4.4 (KitKat) already hitting different HTC One models, HTC has promised that the Droid DNA will also receive the update during Q1 of 2014.
