Rumor claims to reveal the HTC U’s official name

We already know that HTC’s 2017 flagship will be officially unveiled on May 16th in Taipei, but a new rumor claims that the phone’s final name will be the HTC U 11. While the name sounds a bit awkward, it brings together HTC’s new U family with the company’s yearly flagship naming convention. The news regarding the HTC U 11’s name was also accompanied by the revelation that the phone will be available in white, black, blue, red, and silver. We’re going to assume HTC will have unique names for those colors for us soon enough.

Based on what we know, the HTC U will be powerful enough to go head-to-head with the Samsung Galaxy S8, but a recently leaked image shows that the HTC U 11’s design may not be as eye catching as what the competition is pushing out this year.

Fortunately, HTC may have the leg up when it comes to innovation. The HTC U 11’s rumored Edge Sense technology should allow users to interact with the phone by squeezing the edges or swiping their finger on the frame to scroll or change the volume. Take a peek at the two videos below to get an idea of what Edge Sense will be able to do.
