HTC U 11 benchmark shows its just as fast as the Samsung Galaxy S8

The HTC U 11 has made an appearance on Geekbench. Listed as the HTC CBP, the smartphone shows that it is running on the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC with 4GB of RAM. While it’s nice to see the phone’s specs confirmed, there’s been little doubt that HTC’s upcoming flagship would be equipped with Qualcomm’s most powerful chip.

Since the device won’t be unveiled until May 16th, the HTC U 11 is likely still sporting pre-production software. While that typically means that the phone isn’t ready for prime-time, the Geekbench scores posted by the HTC CBP show that it’s performance is on par with the Samsung Galaxy S8. The HTC U 11’s scores a 1912 for the single-core benchmark and a 6137 for the multi-core test. Benchmark scores aren’t always a guarantee of the phone’s final performance, but they do a good job of setting the expectation as to how powerful the device is when it’s pushed to the edge.
