HTC U Ultra pricing and release details announced for China and India

HTC is gearing up for the launch of the HTC U Ultra. The company has announced that the flagship-tier smartphone will soon be making its debut in China and India. The U Ultra will be available for purchase in China on March 1 and will sell for CNY 5,088 ($740 USD). Those looking to purchase the phone in India will need to wait until March 6 and will need to have ₹59,990 ($900 USD) saved up for the phone. If the price of the HTC U Ultra is too high for those in India, HTC will also be selling the HTC U Play for ₹39,990 ($600 USD).

While the price of the HTC U Ultra for India seems a bit high, it’s roughly $100 less than what Google is charging for the Pixel XL. The two phones share the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, but the HTC U Ultra offers a lot more. The phone is equipped with a 5.7-inch QHD display, a secondary 2-inch display for notifications, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, microSD card slot (up to 2TB) 12MP main camera with laser autofocus, 16MP front-facing camera, USB-C with Quick Charge 3.0, a fingerprint sensor and a 3,000 mAh battery.

The HTC U Play isn’t quite a impressive as the U Ultra, but it’s still a powerful device. The phone has 5.2-inch 1080p display, MediaTek Helio P10 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, microSD slot, 16MP cameras on the front and back and a 2,500 mAh battery.
