Unlocked HTC One M9 (US) now receiving its Android Nougat update

HTC has officially released the Android 7.0 update for the unlocked HTC One M9 in the US. The company has also promised that the same update will be making its way to carrier-branded versions of the phone in the US in early 2017.

With Android 7.0, the HTC One M9 should see improved battery life thanks to Doze On The Go, improvements to notifications, quick launch settings and more. If your unlocked HTC One M9 has not received the update yet, you can go to Settings > About > Software Updates > Check now to ping HTC’s servers for the update.

Following the unlocked HTC 10 for the US, this is the second HTC phone to receive the Android Nougat update. The next device on the list should be the global unlocked HTC 10. Hopefully, the update will be made available before Christmas.

  1. It’s a real shame the M8 won’t be getting Nougat. Manufacturers should learn a thing or two with Apple.

  2. Since I downloaded and installed Nougat to my HTC9 the battery gets drained rapidly and the handset gets hot. Does anyone have any idea what the problem may be? Please help.
