HTC Desire 10 could be HTC’s mid-range flagship we’ve been waiting for

The HTC 10 is HTC’s undisputed flagship smartphone of 2016, but that doesn’t mean we’re not going to see any other high-end devices from HTC this year. HTC’s likely not going to push out the endless variations of its flagship phone as it has done in the past, but we’ll at least be getting one mid-range variant – the HTC Desire 10.

The news was shared yesterday by Evan Blass, revealing the phone’s name, its Q3 launch date (sometime between now and the end of September) and a small image which shows off the Desire 10’s rear camera, dual LED flash and laser auto focus. Based on the color of the accent ring around the camera lens and the placement of the flash and laser autofocus, the HTC Desire 10 appears to share design elements with last year’s HTC One E9+. If the Desire 10 sports the same specifications as the HTC 10 in a cheaper polycarbonate body and sells for $500 or less, we see no reason why it shouldn’t be a huge success.
