HTC 10 mini rumored to launch in Q3 with flagship specs, smaller display

Fans of smaller displays will be thrilled with the latest HTC rumor. Apparently, HTC is working on an HTC 10 mini which will be just as good (or better) than the upcoming HTC 10, but will be packaged with a smaller body. The screen of the phone will be significantly smaller than that of the HTC 10, measuring 4.7-inches – matching the display size of the original HTC One (M7). The rumor even claims that the HTC 10 mini will be powered by the (yet unannounced) Qualcomm Snapdragon 823. The SoC is identical to the Snapdragon 820, but it will be clocked as higher speeds for improved performance.

No details were shared regarding the phone’s design, but it should be safe to assume that the HTC 10 mini would share the same basic design with the HTC 10. While it would be nice to have two different HTC 10 models to choose from this spring, the HTC 10 mini will likely not be announced or launch until September.

We know that there are a lot of people hoping that HTC releases a variant of the HTC 10 with a 5.5-inch (or larger) display. For now, we have not heard any rumors that such a device is in the works, but that doesn’t imply that we won’t see an HTC 10 max later this year. We’ll just have to wait to find out.

If the internal components all remained the same (save for battery of course), would you rather have an HTC 10 mini with a 4.7-inch display or an HTC 10 max with a 5.5-inch (or larger) display?

  1. I thought this “rumor” turned out to be an April Fool’s day joke. Is that not the case?

  2. I would kill for a smaller device. I hate the trend of going huge with all these phones, there are no real android offerings below 5″ anymore 🙁
