Android Marshmallow rolling out for the HTC Desire Eye, One E8 and One M8 Eye

With most variants of the HTC One M9 and One M8 already updated to Android Marshmallow, HTC is now turning its attention to its second-tier 2014 devices. We have received reports that the HTC One M8 Eye, HTC Desire Eye and HTC One E8 are now receiving their Android 6.0 updates.

From what we can tell, the One M8 Eye’s Marshmallow software build it rolling out in China and Europe. The Marshmallow update for the HTC Desire Eye is currently hitting devices in Europe, but the AT&T variant in the states should be getting the same update in a matter of weeks. As far as the One E8 goes, HTC’s only pushing out the update to the Chinese models for now. Other markets with the HTC One E8 should be getting the same update before the end of the month.

For all three devices, the Android Marshmallow update is being accompanied by a smaller update which prepares the phones for the larger Android 6.0 installation. Downloading and installing the updates can take roughly an hour, so be sure to start the process when you know you will not been your phone for a while. Once the update is installed and you have some time to get familiar with the new features, be sure to leave us a comment and let us know your thoughts.
