Rumor: HTC Perfume US retail launch set for the second week of May

The retail launch date of the HTC Perfume is still unknown, but there’s some new information which claims that the phone will show up on store shelves during the second week of May. According to @evleaks, HTC USA will start selling the device the week of May 11.

We have seen multiple rumors which claim that HTC will unveil the phone in March or April and the retail launch of the device was previously expected to fall sometime in April. Since there are so many rumors going around, we’re hoping HTC will soon be shedding light on the subject to clear things up. If the phone isn’t going to go on sale until the second week of May, HTC might miss out on quite a few customers who opt to pick up the LG G5 or the Samsung Galaxy S6 which are expected to be available starting in March.

Typically, HTC unveils its flagship phones between the end of February and the end of March. Even if the HTC Perfume does make it to market in April, it’ll be the latest retail launch we’ve seen from HTC in years. To put things into perspective, the HTC One (M7) was unveiled on Feb 19 in 2013 and went on sale on March 15. The HTC One (M8) unveiled happened on the same day in 2014, on March 26. Last year’s One M9 was unveiled on March 1 and its retail debut was March 27.

  1. Main thing is that they get it right. It’ll be long enough after the hubbub from LG and Samsung has died down, that it’ll have all the attention. Also, M9 users need to wait until 12 months after they got that phone to get their Uh-Oh Program $100 discount.
