Rumor: metal-clad HTC One M10 will not be unveiled at Mobile World Congress

Sourcing multiple Chinese language forums, a new rumor claims that HTC has pushed back the unveiling of the One M10 to March with an April release date because it’s still working to finalize its design. According to the rumor, the phone will be built from aluminum with an IP78 waterproof and dustproof rating. The handset will also feature a 3,000 mAh battery, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC and 23 megapixel camera with a circular lens on the back. The fingerprint sensor which has been mentioned in previous rumors will be positioned on the front of the phone.

If the rumor is true, it would explain why the HTC One M10 has been absent from the news cycle for so long. HTC has unveiled dozens of new devices at Mobile World Congress over the years, but the company did launch the HTC One M7 and One M8 at its own events in 2014 and 2013. We’re hoping to get new information regarding the HTC One M10 in the coming weeks, but it looks like we shouldn’t hope on see HTC’s next flagship at Mobile World Congress next month.

  1. I think it’s a good move, it will help make sure the likes of Samsung don’t steal their thunder. Hopefully Evleaks tweet a couple weeks ago means that there will be an Android Wear watch announced.

  2. I read that the 820 is more power effective but I still would like to have at least 3500mAh battery. And I would not mind if the phone would be a bit thicker because of that. Battery is nr 1 for me.
