HTC Desire 728 now available in India

HTC is continuing its expansion plans in India this week with the launch of the HTC Desire 728. Priced at Rs 17,990 ($269 USD), the HTC Desire 728 is a fairly nice mid-range smartphone with a 5.5-inch 720p display, octa-core Mediatek MT6753 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, 13 megapixel rear camera with an f/2.2 lens, front-facing 5 megapixel camera, 2,800 mAh battery and dual-SIM card support.

With the help of the HTC Desire 728 and cheaper phones, HTC hopes to capture 7.5-8 percent of India’s mid-range smartphone market. Hopefully, the HTC Desire 728 will be accompanied with a decent promotional campaign to show why HTC’s phone is better than what’s offered by the competition.

The HTC Desire 728 is currently only available in a few countries in Asia, but there’s a good chance that HTC will be bringing the phone to a handful of markets in Europe in the next month or two.
