Merry Christmas to owners of the unlocked HTC One M9 and the new HTC One A9! HTC just announced, by way of twitter, that these two devices will receive updates before the year’s end.
For the HTC One M9 the update is the big one… It’s Android 6.0, Marshmallow. This update will bring the One M9 up to speed with the One M8 and the all new One A9.
Speaking of the HTC One A9, HTC says owners should be on the lookout for Android 6.0.1 which includes new emoji.

HTC fans have been pinging Mo a lot after recently sharing news that the unlocked One M8 had the Marshmallow update released. When Google debuted Android 6.0 on the latest Nexus devices, HTC quickly shared that a number of phones would be getting the latest release. They also reminded us that carrier versions take longer to deploy, because the process has to get approved by the carrier before it can be delivered over the air (OTA).
