HTC Vive is now approved by the FCC

The new HTC Vive Developer Kit will be unveiled at CES in roughly a week. Thanks to images pulled form HTC’s website last week, we know what the new controllers and headset will look like and we’ve just received word that the HTC Vive just received its FCC certification to that it can be sold in North America.

As usual, the FCC documentation shows where the labels will be located on the headset, controllers, base station and link box. There’s no guarantee, but the fact that the headset it listed implies that HTC may have found a way to transmit the video feed wirelessly – eliminating the unsightly video cables which needed to be plugged into previous versions of the Vive.

We’re not sure when HTC is planning to unveil the updated HTC Vive Developer Kit next week, but we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as the information becomes available.
