HTC One M9(s) unveiled, heading to Taiwan with the same 13MP camera sensor and OIS as the One A9

Keeping up with HTC’s feverish release calendar can be a challenge, especially if you live in Taiwan. Following the launch of the HTC One A9 just a few weeks back, HTC has now unveiled the HTC One M9(s) which keeps the exterior design of the HTC One M9, the new 13 megapixel camera sensor and optical image stabilization of the HTC One A9 and throws in a few leftover components from the other HTC One devices that HTC has released in Asia this year.

The HTC One M9(s) is powered by a MediaTek Helio X10 processor with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, microSD expansion slot, 2840mAh battery, front-facing UltraPixel camera and BoomSound speakers all wrapped up nicely in a 144.6 x 69.7 x 9.6 mm shell that weighs 158g.

Though the HTC One M9 and HTC One M9(s) share the same body, the price of the phone does reflect the newer phone’s lackluster specifications. The HTC One M9(s) is now available for pre-order for NT$12,900 (US$393 USD) and will officially go on sale November 20. Since the phone is substantially cheaper than the HTC One M9 and the new HTC One A9, it could be a popular choice for someone who wants the look of a flagship phone will keeping some extra cash for a rainy day.
