New photos, benchmark details give us a better look at the HTC One A9

As we inch our way closer to the inevitable launch of the HTC One A9, it’s inevitable to be presented with new details and even more pictures of the phone. Two new leaks have hit Weibo, the first gives us a looks at the phone’s specs thanks to the AnTuTu benchmark app while the second reveals five new (somewhat grainy) hands-on pictures of the One A9.

The main thing to note from the  AnTuTu screen shots is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 620 processor. The information listed conflicts with itself since it a so lists the model number of the processors as the MSM 8952 – AKA the Qualcomm Snapdragon 617. We’re not sure why AnTuTu has labeled the chip as the Snapdragon 620, but we know from previous leaks that the HTC One A9 is expected to use the 617 which was just announced a few weeks back.

The leaked images of the HTC One A9 give us a pretty decent look at the phone’s design for all angles. While many have dubbed the HTC One A9 an iPhone clone, we’d like to remind you that HTC first pioneered the all-alimunim unibody smartphone design with the HTC One (M7). Since then, HTC has been refining the look at feel of its phones with subtle tweaks. Yes, the One A9 and the latest iPhone do share a lot of similarities, but that’s more Apple’s doing than HTC’s.

What’s your take on the HTC One A9 so far? If HTC does put a bit of marketing effort behind the phone, do you think it will sell better than the HTC One M9?

  1. The only reason I can think of for why it will sell better than the M9, is if it is significantly cheaper and also has a consistent camera that is able to get rid of the criticism HTC has received in that respect.
