HTC Lock Screen app gets bug fixes and performance boost

If your device hasn’t checked into the Google Play store yet be sure to check your apps for updates as HTC has pushed an update to the Lock Screen Android app. The last time I saw the lock screen get some love was in April and I wonder if the latest update has anything to do with the recent Android Pay news or could even tie in with the HTC PNS feature that was added to the Play store last week.

HTC says the update includes bug fixes and performance improvements; a common way to say we tweaked some stuff.

So I’m curious how many of you use some form of security on your lock screen (i.e. a patter, pin, password, etc.)? I’ve always been partial to the pattern to unlock method, but I don’t change it very often.

  1. I use the pattern unlock, but I also use the face unlock too, which is quite hit and miss, but when my beard is trimmed and I’m not wearing headphones works very well.

    1. Yeah, this site is getting worse by the day regarding ads and adware. Makes me come here less and less.

          1. Why are you using your work computer to surf this site? Why don’t you use your personal phone for that. I never used my desk terminal for stuff like that and those computers are locked down for a reason. And I still block ads on my phone without root. AdGuard or WebGuard do the trick. Again problem solved.

          2. I am sorry but that’s up to me to decide. Also, we shouldn’t have to use an ad block program to be able to use a website, should we? Problem solve would be for the site administrators to ease up on the ads.

          3. Actually, it’s up to your company not you to decide and they made that decision and you have to live with it. This site and many other sites aren’t running a charity here. Just like TV, ads pay for the content your consume. Without it you will be twiddling your thumbs with nothing to surf or watch on TV. There are ways around both if you so choose. Or you can keep belly aching about it. There is no work involved here. I install it once and I forget about it. There is no maintenance here. It all works in the background 24/7. Problem solve it yourself, because you will be old and grey waiting for the internet to not have ads or “ease” up on it. If anything it will just get worse as traditional media continues to die a slow death.
