HTC Desire 526 now available from Verizon, Desire 626 coming soon

Starting today, the HTC Desire 526 can now be purchased from Verizon. The phone sports a 4.7-inch qHD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 clocked at 1.1 GHz, 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, microSD card slot with support for 2TB cards, 8 megapixel main camera, 2 megapixel front-facing camera and a 2,000 mAh battery. Full retail price of the phone is $120 or $5/month for 24 months. If you’re interested in using Verizon’s pre-paid network, the HTC Desire 526’s price drops to $89.99.

If you’re looking for something slightly larger than the HTC Desire 526 and have a little extra cash to burn, the HTC Desire 626 may be exactly what you’re looking for. The HTC Desire 626 features the same main camera, battery, RAM and processor as the Desire 526, but it’s display has been upgraded to a 5-inch 720p panel, internal storage is doubled and the front-facing camera gets a bump to 5 megapixels. Verizon says that the HTC Desire 626 will be available “in the coming weeks,” but isn’t saying much regarding the price of the phone. HTC claims that the price of the Desire 626 should be below $200, but we’ll have to wait just a little bit longer to see how far below the $200 mark it will be.

  1. Pretty sure the 626 has an ultrapixel front facing camera and looks nothing like the image on this site. Much squarer, and screen size is identical to M8/M9. A little thinner than the M8/M9 without the curved back, and device is plastic/composite, not metal. Also, no Boomsound speakers. See images posted on Android Guys for what the 626 looks like.
