Android app of the week: Google Opinion Rewards

This week’s app wasn’t developed by HTC, but Google Opinion Rewards will offer you surveys that are run by market researchers for some extra pocket change in your Google Play account. Survey frequency may vary, and you don’t have to answer every survey you receive, but most have rewards that eventually add up to Google Play credits that you can use towards apps, movies, and more.

Google Opinion Rewards should give you at least one survey per week with questions that are typically about your real world shopping experiences and other preferences. Frequently, I will be asked if I’ve been to one of the following stores recently and if so, how did I travel there. Three out of the five options will be stores that I’ve actually heard of and the frequency of visiting there is usually within one to two weeks.

Opinion Rewards runs in the background and adds a notification to the tray at the top when a new survey is available. If you dismiss the notice you can open the app and go to the main menu to pull up the latest survey. If I think I haven’t been offered a survey in more than a week I make sure to open the app so that I guarantee the service is running in the background.

I’ve been using Google Opinion Rewards since it publicly debuted in 2013. Since then I’ve earned approximately $12 per year in credits that I can use in the Google Play store. If earning Google Play credits isn’t enough motivation for you then I don’t know is! Be sure to download this app and open it right away to start taking surveys. The first one or two surveys should have a decent payout since Google wants to get you thirsty for more Google Play credits.
