Sprint may have been the first to release Android 5.1 for the HTC One M9, but the update is also making it’s way to the HTC One M9 Developer Edition. The 2.6.651.11 software build is massive, weighing in at 794MB. In addition to Google’s security and performance enhancements, the HTC One M9 Developer Edition Android 5.1 update includes data performance improvements, battery life enhancements, temperature management enhancements which using Quick Charge 2.0, a fix to reduce dropped calls and tweaks the the M9’s camera which reduce noise in low-light conditions.
Now that the update has made it’s way to two variants of the HTC One M9, we wouldn’t be surprised if the update hit other service provider variants of the HTC One M9 within the next week or two.
