New HTC One M9 system update delivers camera and power management improvement

The HTC One M9 has already received one system update which brought improvements to the camera performance, but today HTC has begun rolling out a new update which tweaks auto-exposure (reducing the wash-out effect in direct sunlight shots), reduces over processing to remove much of the blur and image noise in low light images and color correction which tones down yellow and green hues in “extreme lighting conditions.”

The 1.40.401.5 update is also bundled with power management tweaks which improve the HTC One M9’s efficiency while running apps like Facebook and YouTube. You’ll also notice a reduction on device temperature while charging the M9 with a Quick Charge 2.0 adapter (which we highly recommend having). For now, the software update is making its way to HTC One M9 units across Europe and Taiwan, but the North America and other markets across Asia will have to wait just a little bit longer.

  1. I see a battery/photo comparison in the future. If comparison comes out favorable in non-updated vs updated M9. Include IPhone and S6 comparison as well.
    Cheers.

  2. Battery life definitely feels better, especially on 4G. The camera actually seems worse though, especially in lower-light situations. All my photos seem to come out yellow…

    1. I become hate the yellow color after using htc m9+ camera
Every thing white (even milk ) seems yellow ….

      1. Playing with the white balance settings seems to fix this, auto white balance is completely broken though.
