HTC One M9 UAG case review

Anyone who’s ever owned a smartphone knows that it’s nearly impossible to keep your device in pristine condition without the help of a case. The HTC One M9 is no exception. While HTC produces the best metal body phones on the market, the impeccable design of the HTC One M9 is prone to dings, scratches and scuffs if not properly protected.

Since I’m keen on keeping my One M9 looking as good as new for as long as possible, I’ve been testing out the new HTC One M9 UAG (Urban Armor Gear). In keeping with the darker look of my Gunmetal gray HTC One M9, I opted for the ASH case from UAG which features a dark gray semi-transparent plastic polymer panel on the back and sides with thick black rubber bumpers which protect the front, bottom and top of the phone. The UAG case for the HTC One M9 features port cutouts along the bottom and top edges to accommodate the IR sensor and for easy access to the microUSB charging port and 3.5mm headphone jack. The right edge of the case features large button covers which are easy to locate and somehow enhance the click you head when pressing the power or volume keys.

While many smartphone cases come in fun colors or feature artsy textures and patterns, but HTC One M9 UAG case features bold contours and faux plastic screws on the back which make it look like the case can survive in a post-apocalyptic environment. You definitely wouldn’t want to run the HTC One M9 with the UAG case over with a car, but UAG does claim that is meets military drop-test standards (MIL STD 810G 516.6). Despite the HTC One M9 UAG case’s rugged appearance, it is quite comfortable to hold and the rubber trim along the edges ensures a solid grip at all times.

I didn’t do a weather balloon test drop with my One M9, but the UAG Ash case has successfully protected the phone from multiple drops onto concrete with the only visible damage being a few light scuffs which were hard to pick up on camera. If you’re looking for a great case for the HTC One M9, I definitely recommend checking out the UAG ASH which sells for $34.95 directly from UAG. yes, covering up the aluminum unibody shell of the HTC One M9 is a shame, but there’s really no other choice if you want your phone looking as good as new in a year or two.

Pixelio can become a portable laboratory for 3D scanning and a mobile
mini photo studio. It also offers a number of new features that similar
    older devices did not have.
