HTC One M9 US launch scheduled for April 10th

During this morning’s UH OH Protection Live stream, Jason Mackenzie revealed that the HTC One M9 will launch in the US on April 10th. While we have a date to circle on our calendars, HTC didn’t announce what service providers will start selling the M9 on April 10th, but we can be sure that the unlocked version of the HTC One M9 will be available directly through HTC’s website.

Unfortunately, fans of Google Play editions will be sad to hear HTC is currently not planning on to offer an HTC One M9 with stock Android. This is disappointing, but aligns with the rumors that the Google Play edition program is dead. From what we’ve heard, Google has had a hard time selling Google Play edition devices with total numbers coming in under 100,000 over the past two years.

We would have liked to see the launch of the HTC One M9 come before the end of March, but waiting until April 10th certainly gives us enough time to device which color phone we’ll be opting for on launch day.
