HTC One E9 design and specs revealed

We’re a few week out from the retail launch of the HTC One M9, but it looks like HTC is cooking up a new device which be a little more appealing. The upcoming HTC One E9 has made an appearance in TENAA (China’s version of the FCC database), revealing the phones design and a nearly complete spec sheet which includes a 5.5-inch QHD 2,660 x 1,440 display, 2GHz octa-core MediaTek processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB internal storage,  microSD expansion slot, and 20-megapixel rear camera.

According to a few other leaks, the HTC One E9 will have two different camera options on the front. The standard model will come with a 13 megapixel front-facing shooter while the premium version will sport the same front-facing UltraPixel camera as the One M9. The design of the HTC one E9 is a mix between the HTC One M8 and the HTC Desire Eye. The One E9 features a two-tone gold finish on the front and sides and a soft-touch white polycarbonate back.

While last year’s HTC One E8 was significantly cheaper than the HTC One M8, the 5.5-inch QHD display of the E9 will definitely increase the base price of the phone. And then there’s the whole issue of availability. Last year’s One E8 was mainly targeted at markets in Asia and Sprint was the only US service provider to sell the HTC One E8 in North America.
