Leaked document reveals HTC’s Lollipop update roadmap

We’ve known for a long time that HTC was planning to release the Android 5.0 (Lollipop) update for the HTC One (M8) and One (M7) before the end of January. However, HTC has been tight lipped regarding when its other handsets would start receiving the latest software update. HTC may not be planning to reveal that information any time soon, but now we may have some insight into HTC’s plans thanks to a leaked document.

The HTC Android 5.0 update roadmap shows the HTC One (M8) and One (M7) will receive the Lollipop update in January, but it also lists the update schedule for over a dozen other devices that are available in markets across the globe. Based on HTC’s Android update track record, the document appears right, but don’t be surprised if there are a few delays since many of the listed devices have dozens of regional market and service provider variants which require a unique software build. While the leaked roadmap shows HTC’s update plans through April, we suspect HTC’s update cycle will run a few additional months since not all of HTC’s 2014 lineup is listed.

  4. Desire 610, April, 2 months later …
Won’t start a Troll here, but, on iPhone, every iPhone, press 1 button and upgrade. On Android (i’m on it since 2.0), you have to flash and hack your device.

    Google can create photo-VR algorithms, but can’t solve a device-upgrade problem ?

    Kappa.
