HTC RE sample camera shots

The HTC RE is completely different from anything HTC has made in the past. It’s not a phone or a tablet. It’s a stand-alone waterproof camera with a 146 degree wide-angle lens. We’re still getting used to the little device, but we thought we’d share a few of the images we’ve taken so far.

The HTC RE has a 16 megapixel sensor which captures really great pictures in daylight, but low-light pics have left us a bit disappointed. We’re also a bit perplexed as to why the HTC RE is equipped with a fixed focus lens when even cheap smartphone have auto-focus lenses these days. We’ll be sharing a full review of the HTC RE sometime next week, but take a look at the pictures below to see what you can expect from HTC’s smartphone connected camera.

  1. 16 MP? Not even remotely better than my 4 MP HTC One M7 images. Disappointed, I was really excited about getting one. Glad I didn’t pre-order it.

And very poor choice of subjects for a review.

  2. HTC needs to fire their whole camera department, im hearing that even the desire eye and m8 eye cameras are inferior to the G3, iPhone 6 & the S5 and arent showing much improvement (if any) over the UltraPixel sensor
